Sarah Blais

PortfolioMotion

Sarah Blais is a portrait, fashion, and documentary photographer whose work blurs the line between reality and the surreal. She subtly reconfigures familiar narratives to evoke both tension and intimacy—always underscored by a quiet sense of joy. Her use of play as a creative tool invites spontaneity and connection, freeing the imagination of both subject and viewer. Rooted in her Indigenous Canadian heritage, her work possesses a sensitivity to relationship and representation, enriching her visual language with layers of resonance and depth.

In 2019, Blais was awarded the British Journal of Photography’s Female in Focus prize, with her work exhibited at United Photo Industries in New York. Her commercial clients include Hermes, Loewe, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Calvin Klein, Ami Paris, Moncler, Vince, Beaufille, Zara, Soeur, Ashlyn, Jigsaw, Icicle, Byredo, Arket, Glossier, and Aeyde. Her editorial work has appeared in WSJ, D La Repubblica, Document Journal, Footnote, S|S|A|W, Exhibition, Kinfolk, Family Style, Vogue, and more.
