Born in Sydney, Australia, Simon Burstall first picked up a camera at age 14. He later went to art school to formally study photography and assisted Australia’s leading photographers. Upon moving to New York City in 2000, he worked as an assistant for David Sims, as well as Herb Ritts, Terry Tsiolis and Greg Delves. He went out on his own in 2007 and has since collaborated with notable international publications including V, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE, Mixte and Flair. He has shot advertising for Garnier, J Crew, Madewell, Donna Karan, The Gap, and Victoria’s Secret, amongst others. His artistic inspiration is drawn from all that he finds interesting, be it travels, people, faces, and experiences.
