Roger Cabello was born in Peru, where as a child, he was encouraged by his father to take photographs of local soccer players. Thus began a life-long love affair with the camera. His family relocated to New York, and when it came time to settle on a course of study, he chose photography. After graduating from FIT, he quickly found work shooting black & white ads for local retailers in Greenwich Village, all the while assisting established still-life photographers, honing his work ethic and own unique style. As his aesthetic evolved, clients began taking notice, namely GQ and American Vogue. Others quickly followed.
Several years later, Roger decided to focus exclusively on what he did best: still life cosmetics. Among the first to become aware of this new body of work was Deanna Filippo, Design Director at Allure Magazine, with whom he embarked on a close collaboration that has lasted over a decade, producing the work for which Roger is best known – lush and vibrant cosmetic compositions that emphasize texture, form, and pigment. Roger’s attention to detail, sensitivity to color, and inventive use of light has been called upon by major beauty brands including Estee Lauder, Bloomingdale’s, Maybelline and L’Oreal. His unique ability to successfully merge his signature vision with his clients' needs continues to impress industry decision-makers worldwide.
Roger's work has recently evolved to include motion video, bringing yet another dimension to his vast body of work.
